My friend has a 2001 se 4x4 , when he got it inspected the mechanic said the rear drum brakes needed adjusted for $85 , is that a realistic price for that job? thanks guys!

Sure. An hour labor. Sounds fair to have the mechanic do it. If you guys don't know how to do it then it's a really good price!
