I'm getting promoted to Corporal in a few months so I'll be in the market for a vehicle. I really want an import car (STi, EVO, etc) with a motorycle trailer to haul my motorcycle, but I would benifit more from a truck. So I'm looking for a sports truck since a sports car isn't really practicle. I was considering the Colorado, S-10, etc. Something, fast, easily modable with plenty of aftermarket prouducts, and it must have a manual transmission. I don't know anything about trucks so I need your help. What kind of truck should I get?

an SVT lightning f-150. supercharged if possible :P or a rousch. don't get an s-10 unless its the 4.3L, you wont be happy with the 2.2L, and you won't be able to pull a trailer. i personally love my Dodge Ram Sport too, its the 5.9L.

The Ford Lightning has never had a manual tranny option. Hopefully the next one will; I believe the concept did.
You could buy an S-10 and replace the 4.3 with an LS1 V8 or something. Has more aftermarket support than the 4.3 does (not that the 4.3 doesn't have good support). Or maybe an S-10 Xtreme? Chevy engines are built pretty well and have lots of torque out of the box. Won't take a whole lot to "wake it up" some.

Also, how heavy will your tow load be?

Corporals make about 1,800 per month, and I live in the barracks, and I don't have any current bills. That should answer your question.

I really wasen't looking to pull a trailer. The motorcycle will go in the bed of the truck.

Well I fell in love with a different truck. 2007+ Chevy Colorado.
This exact truck: http://www.nadaguides.com/NewCar/NewCarPrices/CHEVROLET/2007/Colorado/2007_new_16343_-1_28540_1035_0118033029025634.aspz

Go bigger than the Colorado, step up to the Silverado at least. If you're willing to wait the new F-150 & RAM are possibilities as well.
