2006 Rear Wiper rotating on lower door

My wife's Freestar's rear wiper is wiping on the lower part of the door instead of the glass. I lifted the wiper off of the body and had her turn the switch on and it rotated in its pattern, but upside down. I turned the wiper arm by hand after the vehicles key was off and had her try it again, and the same result, it rotated on the lower have of the rear door.

Any suggestions before I run it back to Ford?

Thanks

There is a nut that may just need tightening and adjustment. Here is the information below that may help you to check.

Wiper Blade and Pivot Arm Adjustment — Rear

1. Cycle and park the rear wiper motor.

µ 2. Note:
The rear wiper blade should be aligned with the two defroster guide lines located on the RH lower portion of the rear glass.

Verify that the rear wiper blade is located in the proper position
If not within specification, remove the pivot arm and reposition to the proper location. For additional information, refer to
4. «Pivot Arm—Front».

Pivot Arm — Rear

Removal

1. Remove the pivot arm.
Release the pivot arm nut cover.

2 Remove the nut.

3 Remove the pivot arm.

Installation

1. To install, reverse the removal procedure.

Thanks again for the detailed instructions, that took care of the problem.

My wife came clean and finally told me that our 9 year old was wiping snow off the back glass and pushed the wiper down.

Thanks again!!

Sometimes the rear wiper nut will loosen up as well. I used a little LOC_TIGHT thread sealer. Use the blue. It will be easier remove than the red..
