aftermarket alarmcardboardpimp420 01-17-2008, 08:07 PM hey i wasn't sure where to post this so i first off want to apologize if this is not the right spot. anyway, I'm looking to install an after market alarm in my 96 blazer 4x4 with the 4.3Lv6. I would like to tap off the old system so i can have the keyless entry with my new system. I was wondering, is there a physical receiver with the stock keyless system that i can cut and splice the wires to the locks? If so, where can I find it? also if you know what colors go to what that would be a definant plus. Thanks. Chris Stewart 01-18-2008, 05:34 PM The only way to alarm anything built after 1980 is an established shop install with written warranty against any electrical problem for at least 1 year...that way it'll be done with experienced installers using electrical connectors designed for your system and not a splice-n-tape or splice-n-crimp slam job. If there is a problem and the car burns down or the computer smoke gets out, at least you'll have some recourse. cardboardpimp420 01-18-2008, 07:46 PM i've wired at least a half dozen car alarms with absolutely no problems and every one of them were built after '86 so no offense to you but i didn't post this question for someone to tell me that the only way to do it is to have a professional do it. i was just wondering where the wires that control the power locks and trunk release go back to. cannotoutrunme 01-18-2008, 09:26 PM It is hard to tell you the wires but I would be ever so glad to show you how to do it. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
