Speedometer cablesoulmonger 01-15-2008, 03:20 AM How do you replace the speedometer cable? My speedometer worked just fine until today when it hit 0 while I was doing 50 and it won't move at all anymore, so im sure the cable broke or one of the ends of the cable broke. I was just wondering how I should go about repairing it. silicon212 01-15-2008, 10:55 AM It's more likely to be the gear in the transmission, than a bad cable. What is your car? Does it have cruise control - and if so, is it mechanical or electronic? mike561 01-15-2008, 01:51 PM to get to the cable that goes to the back of the speedometer you have to remove the speedometer face, be really careful the needle can break easy soulmonger 01-15-2008, 11:17 PM I have a 90 caprice classic brougham. It does have cruise control. Don't really know if it's mechanical or electric. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
