1994 Jeep Cherokee 4X4 Front Axle Vacuum Line QuestionDewitt88 01-14-2008, 06:24 PM I just recently bought a 1994 Jeep Cherokee 4X4. Front diffrential vacuum hose if off and I am not sure where on the transfer case that it hooks up. The vacuum line is on top of the axle. If someone could show me a picture or explain where this line hooks up that would be great. Heres my problem when I got the jeep it was easy to go in 4 High but when going into 4 low it was a little hard to engauge and even harder to disengauge. Upon trying to find the problem this vacuum line is all I could find. Any help would be great! Thanks 1994 Jeep Cherokee Sport 4 Door 4X4, Automatic 4.0 Inline 6 Cyl. wwwildman 01-14-2008, 08:30 PM The vacuum line should be one of four in a harness that is attached to the front axle, on the passenger side. There should be a vacuum motor inside the axle there. I would check to see if one of the lines came loose from the harness. This would cause the problems that you describe. Dewitt88 01-14-2008, 08:34 PM Don't laugh at me too hard... This hose is at the top of the "Round" part of the front axle. It appears to be by its self. It was zip tied and hung up by the brake booster. It has a little plastic piece in the end of it. ALSO I HAVE NO 4X4 INDICATOR LIGHTS ON THE DASH BUT 4X4 DOES WORK ITS JUST HARD TO ENGAGE AND DISENGAGE! I just looked on the passenger side of the Axle and I am not seeing anymore lines that are hooked up. Again I am new to all this. Dewitt88 01-14-2008, 10:08 PM Ok I am being told this is just a vent for the front axle that my year model does not have the shift motor on the right side of the axle. With that being said what else could cause my problems? vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
