Given that the jetta is a value edition with 40k miles and the bmw has about 100k miles, which one would you pick if you had to make the choice? Also, why would that be?
Thank you.
Thank you.

I think BMW is the better European make over Audi/VW. Plus I can't stand the Jetta, lol.

100,000 miles on the BMW!!!! Dont get it, it will fail on you soon. I have a 2002 jetta with less miles on it, granted i have some problems but none are major.

Eh, many people I've talked to have claim the E46 can handle high milage pretty well. The 2.5l in the 325i isn't nearly as high strung as the 3.2l in the M3. It won't be Honda/Toyota reliable, but I'd trust it as much as I would any other high milage car. In general BMWs are way more reliable then VWs and the base 3-series is generally the most reliable of any BMW.
There is a fair amount of risk taking the BMW though. I generally wouldn't trust any car over 100k miles to be all that reliable. The BMW is definitely more entertaining to drive then a Jetta.
Personally, I would keep looking around, maybe find a 2001 - 2003 325i with fewer miles. The years will subtract cost from the car even though they are virtually the same. I would shoot for between 60k-70k.
Good luck

Well more entertaining unless you have my jetta, a 1.8t which is alot more fun than the BMW325 (My step father has a 2003 325 and I hate it, I think its too plain and civilized)
