so my check engine light comes on when I put windshield washer fluid in. the codes thrown are O2 sensor and mass air flow. I car shutters and bucks but does not stall out. I had the codes reset and it drove fine for over a week until I put windshield washer fluid in. The car has 140000+ miles on it and has been in a few accidents. I know the normal idle rate for the car is 700 but sometimes it idles at 300 and sometimes 1200. I'm thinking the little bit of windshield washer fluid not getting in the tube is leaking onto some loose wiring and causing a short. i dont know much about the wiring set up beneath or near the container so im not sure if this is possible. any suggestions would be great.

If you had codes before you poured in the washer fluid and codes afterwards, then it's not the fluid. Check the O2 and MAF sensors for proper contact with their connections and operation. My guess would be the MAF, causing it to run rich and giving an O2 sensor failure from too many unburned hydrcarbons (fuel). Pull and clean the PCV valve too...if it rattles easily when shaken it's okay. Finally check your plugs for fouling and proper gap. Gaps slowly widen between the electrodes as they wear.
