Do you have the overhead console? If yes, check if the switch for the interior lights is in the "off" position.

If the switch is on the lights never go out. should the switch be on? We don't have an owners manual.

How many bells do you hear when you start your car. The number of tones tells you what your interior lights are programed to do. I believe the default tones are 4

( You said If the switch is on the lights never go out.should the switch be on?We don't have an owners manual ) The switch should be in the on pos for normal operation. the dash light dimmer control ( just below the headlight switch ) should be about 1/2 way or the white dot in the center. if it's turned to the right it will turn on the dome lights all the time, if it's turned back to the left the lights then are controlled fron the door switches. the switch on the overhead is the master shut off for the dome lights. i use this switch in the day or if the doors are open for an extended time. two photos of the switches http://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff306/463_photos/vanxm013.jpghttp://i242.photobucket.com/albums/ff306/463_photos/vanxm014.jpg let me know if this help you, 463
