I'm gonna end up getting a new car soon instead of the Caprice I have now and I'm stickin with gettin a Neon. My mom just said today that she has asked around, actually she asked a pure Chevy fanboy, and a few dealerships and they are saying that Neons are the worst for accidents and problems. Is this true??

Anyone who is a devoted brand nazi (i.e. Chevy only, Honda only, Ford only) will tell you a Neon (or any Dodge) is gonna suck. Most people I know that have had decent wrecks with their Neons have walked away from nasty accidents. My fiance was hit head on at 50 mph, the car was totalled of course but he got out with a few burn marks on his arms from the airbags. A girl over on Neons.org flipped hers into a ditch, landing on the roof, she walked out of that. One of my best friends was sitting at a red light in his Neon, got rearended so hard he was pushed out into traffic and then t-boned....he walked away from that.....yes he was sore afterward, and had back probs for awhile but he didn't leave the scene in an ambulance. Here's my Neon when i wrecked it:

35-40 mph collision. Airbags didn't go, thank God, and that was a few years ago. The car was repaired and I still have it.....151,000+ miles and still going strong. No matter what kind of car you drive, when your number is up it is up, regardless if you are driving a Neon or a Benz.

I totally agree. I just have a question. Why didn't your airbags go? If you mean they didn't pop then damn, I'd say that's pretty damn unsafe. A 35-40mph collision is pretty bad.

Geeez, looking at the damage, they should've gone. I had the same accident, but only at lyke 15-20 mph. Bags didnt go... Glad they didnt. It hit high on my front bumper sliding over it and messed up my radiator. :( Why didnt that go!?!
