Whats a good paint safe cleaner?vanilla gorilla 01-06-2008, 01:18 AM I've got the Red Rag torn apart, and I want to clean the engine bay really well. I've had some oil, and exhaust leaks in the past so the engine and bay are extremely dirty. I want to wash it up real good before I put it back together....I want it to look as good as it once did. So does anyone know of a good cleaner that I can use that is paint safe? Would Simple Green be good to use? SilvrEclipse 01-06-2008, 01:24 AM I would try simple green as long as it is some type of degreaser you should be fine. And maybe a pressure washer. vanilla gorilla 01-06-2008, 01:31 AM IDK, my home boy always cleans his race dirt bike with it, so I figure it would probably work alright. Anyone else got any suggestions? It's kind of hard to find though, I think the only place that sells it in Fargo is Mills Fleet Farm. You could look it up online and see where they sell it in your town. And it's pretty cheap too. Just spray the shit on, let it sit for like 5-10 mins and then wipe 'er down and it should look like brand new. xavier3jr 01-06-2008, 01:44 AM i've used mean green or grease lighting both worked well for me. Blackcrow64 01-06-2008, 07:29 AM How about a little soap, water, and elbow grease?... ;) :p vanilla gorilla 01-06-2008, 09:23 AM How about a little soap, water, and elbow grease?... ;) :p I've tried that in the past...its poop. SilvrEclipse 01-06-2008, 09:47 AM Do you have the motor out? vanilla gorilla 01-06-2008, 12:15 PM Ive got everything out of the bay minus the engine, tranny, and intake manifold, and main harness.
