please share your thought about korean cars

for me, they are sucks (except the hyundai coupe and i30) and i definitely won't buy any of them

if i have to buy one, i might buy the coupe and i30 in nearly new condition, there's no point of buying a new one, you'll be hit by a huge depreciation.

i can tell you now, korean cars arent that bad, i used to work for kia myself.

the Hyundai i30 is pretty much 100% a Kia concept car
the kia rio is a hyundai accent
the cerato is basically ... i forget
the santa fe is a sportage
etc etc etc

it makes sense though since kia is part owned by hyundai.

but yes, apart from depreciation theres nothing much wrong with them

kia DID have alot of problems earlier on, especially wiht the carnival, but most of the cars are just older models redesigned, such as the terracan being a mitsubishi pajero.

the only problems i found with teh new model kias are a profound issue with headunits, cheap fuel pumps that broke constantly and thin paint. other than that, great cars.

I would never, ever, ever buy one, or accept one as a gift if it were given to me (unless of course I could sell it). There's really nothing wrong with them... until something goes wrong. Daewooes (sp?) were absolutely awful, I think there's a reason they discontinued them. Everything's a PITA to replace, assuming you can find the part. I've seen a few Kias with junk engines at 100k, and everything on the car seems to start leaking around then. A local (Cedar Rapids, Ia) dealer actually had a buy one get one free sale on them. Hyundais are the only one that has a couple decent cars, but I'd never buy one. If you look in my signature, I think you'll see I strongly prefer one manufacturer... and all my vehicle identification numbers start with a "1"!
1=USA 2=Canada 3=Mexico 4,5 USA of foreign parts? J=Japan K= Korea W= Germany

Yup, nissan, toyota, mazda, mitsubishi (I think theres more) are all Japaneese. The Japaneese cannot build big vehicles. Their cars are alright, but nothing great. The only advantage is the variable timing on more models that gives them a bit more power. Nothing but GM for me!

Korean cars are cheap and look pretty poor. I would say a good British car.. but we only have 2 car companies that are actually still British owned!!!
