so the other night the wife brings the truck home from work only to tell me there is no heat...so i go out the following morning and check into it...i noticed the blower motor not coming on so i pull it out and check there isnt much spin to the motor at all...so i order a replacement and that too didnt work. i have checked all the fuses to see if that were a problem and they are all good. i used a test light to see if there was power to the blower motor lead and that too was good...could it be the switch? the only way i was to test the switch was to hit the ac button then move the blower switch to positions 1-4...the light on the ac button turn on...then turned off upon switching back to off. i ran direct leads to the blower motor via the battery and that didnt work either an fyi...when using the test light on the lead to the blower motor...i get a constant light with the engine running even when the switch is off...what really baffles me is why wouldnt the blower motor spin when i connected it directly to the battery?????????...am i missing something? please help its cold in buffalo!!!

...often times the resistor pack (it's that black little unit with a heat sink screwed into the plasticducting at the AC evaporator housing), it's what usually goes and the diagnosis is to notice it works in high but not any other speed. does (did) yours work on any setting?

why you get no running motor from direct battery : are you supplying a ground as well?

guys i really need some help here please i get constant power to the blower motor connector(even when switch is set to off) but no power to the blower motor...i have tried 2 different blower motors with direct leads to battery and they work fine but when i connect to the lead i get nothing at all. could the constant power to the lead be the clue to a bad switch? would the ac light still come on even with a bad switch then shut off when the switch is put in the off position ?

As trooperbc said, replace the resistor pack. Its fairly common for them to go bad. Not sure if the blower motor is this way but for some reason Isuzu likes to switch the ground side of things. So the 12v constant even when the switch is off could be normal if they are switching the ground side instead of the hot side.

ok pulled it out called the dealer and the dealer says there are 2 of them? one inside and one outside? i suggest you go to www.myisuzuparts.com (http://www.myisuzuparts.com) the official isuzu usa parts site. look it up. get the parts illustration. check the application . get the part number and ask him.

if its beyond you, call an isuzu dealer in missouri which sells parts over the phone, free shipping direct from the isuzu distribution warehouse and a 15% 'internet discount', ask for it. also ask to speak to MERLIN, and wait on the phone for him, it's an 800 number. he's *very* helpful and *very* expert.

http://isuzu.stcharlesauto.com/Department-Parts.aspx Phone: 800-727-8066

many local dealers have a hard time with the isuzu parts program they use because, really, they don't use it much. so merlin at stcharlesisuzu might be your best bet.

Dang Amigo2k beat me to it LOL.

It is repairable though. Biggest problem is the radiator support which looks like it might be bent. Doesnt look much worse then my mitsu did...

http://www.geocities.com/gizmo_42/truck/ford1.jpg

Insurance totalled it, but I bought it back for $500. Used my $100 port-a-power to push the radiator support back to reasonably straight. Another $500 in salvage yard parts and $500 in paint. Ended up looking like this...

And still had about $2k left over from what the insurance company gave me for totalling it.

sad thing is...the airbag never deployed...35mph

Hopefully your wife is ok. And if she is it could be a good thing the air bag didnt deploy. Insurance companies are more likely to total it if its deployed. Also one less thing needing fixed.

I personally dont like air bags. My ex gf asked me to disable hers after her freind was killed in a car wreck. The invesigators said she would have survived it but when the air bag deployed it broke her neck. I guess its like seatbelts, sometimes they can do more harm then good.
