Good evening. I have a friend with a 1995 V6 SE Contour and when he shifts it into drive or reverse the engine clunks and rolls back and forth. It appears to me a motor mount is gone. Can anyone point me to a removal and replacement procedure on the internet somewhere? Can anyone tell me which mount is most likely to be gone? Thanks in advance! Dave

I doubt its the motor mounts. Its probably the roll resistors which people mistaken for motor mounts. Theres one on the front and rear of the engine. Chances are the rubber insert is crumbling and falling apart. You can buy SVT roll resistors (Torque Mounts as they call them) from batinc.net (part# K433A and K433C) which are beefier than the standards ones.

To replace both its honestly about a 30 minute job or less. If you have a jack stand to support the motor, put a big block of wood underneath the oil pan to distribute the weight and lift up the motor slightly just enough to relieve the pressure off the roll resistors. If I recall the front one has one large bolt running through the middle of it and then two smaller bolts. Rear one is similiar.
