i have a leak in the radiator in my '02 2500hd it has the 8.1 vortec motor in it and the parts house wants to know what trans i have in it to get the new rad i'm guessing it has an allison in it would anyone know? thanks

5 speed allison is what you should have

Does not have the 4l80e,the allison.Look under for a red spin on filter near the front of the transmission pan

it has 5 speed allison thanks for reply. i found the leak in the rad its the plastic tank on the drivers side and it replacable costs $160.00 thats cheaper than the rads i found and i can change it myself.
