LED tailgate lightryba85 01-03-2008, 03:19 PM I put in a Pacer LED tailgate light and after a few Problems, I managed to complete it. Now my problem is that the red LEDs for the brakes dont work. There is power to them but when I apply the brake they dont light up. I noticed by looking up close, I can see the bulbs flickering very dimly. It is not noticable unless you're right up to it. Could the bulbs have short circuited or blown out? I really dont want to have to buy a replacement light strip but Im beginning to think I will have to. Any ideas? Can LEDs "blow out"? Sonny01 01-03-2008, 04:35 PM I think what you added is taking up too much current...unplug the new stuff and see if the old stuff works again. ryba85 01-03-2008, 04:57 PM I think I worded it wrong. All my truck taillights work, its just the LED bulbs on the new light bar that dont. It has white reverse lights that work, yellow signals, only the right signal works. And then the red brakes dont work. I double checked with the manufacturer and it is all wired properly. I have been e-mailing back and forth to him and he's helping all that he can. J-Ri 01-03-2008, 05:28 PM LEDs don't burn out like incandescent bulbs. They are polatiry sensitive, so if the ground isn't common to all cirucits make sure you have that right. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
