There is an unusual texture/pattern (black mesh on red ) to the Evolution VI TME seats, I was wondering if any of you had a tutorial or advice on how to paint it to the mesh looking fabric?

I would create a box in Word (or similar program) and add a fill pattern like the one on the seat. Select your background color as black and the foreground as close to the color on the original seat (red).

Print it out and bring it to your copy center to have it color laser copied on to clear decal paper.

Paint the section of the seat you want covered in white. Color copiers only print in transparent and it might not be noticeable but, the red color will be there and will show when you apply the decal over white.

Finally, apply the decals as described in the SMS tutorial here.

It looks just like dark red when you see from outside the door (first pic). Even for the pattern above, if you look from afar it just appears to be a very very dark red. I would not worry about the black mesh texture at all.

I agree just to paint it dark red. The pattern is much, much too small to see in 1/24. You can't see it in the pics until the third zoomed in image. To see the seats in a 1/24 cockpit as close as you do in the first two pics above, your eye would have to be against the window plastic- and the pattern still isn't really visible.

Paint the seats very dark gray (light black), and paint the reddish areas red mixed with dark grey.

Or you could even use Scale Motorsports' red carbon fiber decal?
