rims..cee 02-15-2003, 09:21 PM I was just wondering... when you guys bought sum new rims for your car, did you use the same lug nuts or did you buy new ones? i've got a 95 civic, and i used the stock lugs, and whenever I'm cruisin, all of the other cars i see have smaller lugs then i do, i donno if its just me or what? should I buy sum new lugs? strodda 02-16-2003, 12:25 AM you dont always need to but i would, unless you want your new rims to become someone elses new rims. for mine i actually had to, i needed open acorn lugs because of the center cap. and youll also want to get wheel locks for a little added security. CivicSiRacer 02-16-2003, 12:49 AM Actually most aftermarket rims cannot use OEM lugs. OEM lugs are spherical/ball types and aftermarket wheels use conical (cone) shaped lugs. cee 02-16-2003, 10:13 AM Would these be the wrong kinds? this is what wheelmax sent me when I ordered my rims and i really hope i didn't waste my money :( CivicSiRacer 02-17-2003, 12:16 AM Could you get some better pics? :) They look a little of both :) cee 02-17-2003, 12:41 AM which one? 1st 2nd or 3rd? or just all? thanks for the help btw!! :D CivicSiRacer 02-17-2003, 10:32 AM Originally posted by cee which one? 1st 2nd or 3rd? or just all? thanks for the help btw!! :D The middle lug nut. cee 02-17-2003, 10:52 AM I got this from a website, but it looks identical to it.. http://www.mcgard.com/prod_imgs/LugConeReg.jpg CivicSiRacer 02-17-2003, 09:32 PM Well that picture doesn't help. I tried fixing that photo and it looks to be a conical/cone shape lug. So you can use it on most aftermarket rims. Just don't use them on OEM wheels. Ace$nyper 02-24-2003, 03:00 PM Another thing that lugs do is the odd shaped ones need a "key" a shaped lug for the custom lugs that only they come with being kinda theft proof also you can get color matched lugs. emerge 02-27-2003, 09:29 PM i dont know if my sig pic is big enough, but i used my stock lug nuts on my tenzo's.... CivicSiRacer 02-27-2003, 10:17 PM Originally posted by emerge i dont know if my sig pic is big enough, but i used my stock lug nuts on my tenzo's.... which is bad. If you notice the Tenzo wheels should use a conical shaped lug, not the spherical/ball shape lugs like OEMS. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
