Whats the coolest car at the races where you live? The very clean jdm 5th gen with black rims and no one knows what kind of engine he has? The badass eclipses with huge body kits and insane blow off valves? Or just whats the coolest thing you seen happen or go on up there?

theres a 12 second turbo b16 black rex, an eclipse with a large 16g turbo, a badass 69 camero with a parachute *sp*, and you must have been really bored to spend time and put all those faces up

this is my favorite car around here, it may not be the fastest but its my favorite. the near car is a 5thgen hatch stock internally b16a, runs mid 13s, with slicks and everything. the far car is my favorite 4thgen, b16a runs high 13s, slicks and everything too, i think both cars are nuts.

there is actually two that i lkie and that is a dark olive green type of color 5th gen hatch with spoon sw388, cf duckbill, and cf front lip. this car is mysterious. i asked a couple of guys what he had done but all that they could tell me was that it had a swap done(they don't know what engine) and that it has one of the sickest suspension setups(they don't know what it is either) and also a dropped(not too much) championship white itr with jdm gunmetal rims, cf hood and a spoon exhaust and a chick was driving it.

i would have to go with the supras that this guy brings every so often:

i wouldnt mind driving a 1000hp supra, or his mildly tuned 750hp supra. if only i was rich...

From the Si's to the vipers, chicago/joliet has them all but my favorite is a bright yellow supra with black rims and slicks, pounding down 1000hp to the track, The BOV sounds so pissed off, like its going to get out of the engine and kick your ass, which it does to anyone in the other lane. I almost mess myself everytime he stages

Doesnt it just bug ya when you see a hatch just sittin there looks awesome with complete jdm and wacked suspension. And all you know is he has a swap. You know he has a totally built b18 type r engine, you just know it! and if he doesnt he atleast has a pretty badass b16. just my input:smoker2:

Single turbo conversion. easily 400 hp
i dont know much more about the engine.
i would guess that it runs around an 11.5 comparing it to other RXs that i know.

i think it would have to be my friend's crx... it has a fully built b16 with a 175 shot. don't know what he runs now cause it's not broke in but with a basically stock b16 and a 125 w/slicks he ran a 7.85 1/8th mile. only once tho then he needed to rebuild the motor.

31 lbs?? You sure on that number? What are the graphs saying? And what kind of times? That's INSANE. Must be one of the fastest/highest-powered Type-Rs in the country:( That's CRAZY.

I'm positive, I've seen the car myself while I was at my buddys shop. Ichibahn has a race team down here that the type-r runs for. I went for a ride with him and watched that bitch boost right up to 31 and I was definatley one of the fastest cars I've ridden in. At the time he has just got the work done and hadn't run it yet, all he said is it ran low 14's stock. Havn't seen it around in awhile but I'll try to find out. I know the guy bought the car, paid it off, refinaced it and put all the money back into the motor. Thats like 25 grand. You know I have heard of other cars running similiar boost, so its not that unbeilveable. Its just pure crazyness.

We've got 3 cars worth mentioning and everything else in the city is pure and thorough rice.
1) Bright yellow Ferrari. Have no idea what type it is. If I saw pictures I could identify it but its a sweet bitch. He likes to race whoevers stupid or unlucky enough to be in the next lane and damn I love to see him go. Only seen it once though. Best part is he's a self made man. He's got a new Hummer H2 as well. and he's 25. No mommy and daddy money. got it all by himself.
2) Bright red Ferrari. Its the exact same one as on the cover of that X box game, Project Gothom. Someone said it was an F50 but I've got no idea
3) Brand new Silver (some sort of 3 letter special edition) Viper. It's beautiful. Some lady who does something ridiculous like owns a flower shop has it and she just loves to race it. I've seen her at least a dozen times, 3 of those racing it just in the last 2 weeks alone.

in my area, iv'e seen some pretty sweet cars. BMW Z8- my eyes almost popped outta my head. A sweetly tuned Nissan 300zx, a Toyota Supra- Saw that on the way to school. Mitsubishi 300gt Umm... few Vettes, cobras. Saw a viper in a Borders Books parking lot near my house once.

It's not impossible, my friend Bretts' Si that we work on in my garage will be boosting 28lbs this season. He's going to the track with me and a bunch of friends the week of March 1st. With what we're expecting from Bretts car that guy out your way should be running 9s and have one of the fastest Integra's in the US:( :)

In theory it would but I know the turbo is a fairly new addition and I'm thinking that they prob still havn't worked out all the kinks. Shit I still havnt and I've had mine for about 6 months. I'm interested to see what that thing will do and I'll try to find out what it does now the next time I'm down that way.

95civicman listed one, the yellow CRX. However, there are 2 more great cars. One is temporarily out of commission though. That car is a 2nd gen Integra owned by the guy who runs Notorius Motorsports. It has a fully biult B18(not sure which) but has VTEC. He bought the motor in Cali. from some builder. I think he is running a T3/T4 hybrid. He was pushing 38 psi (care to challenge that #?). If anyone remembers the white integra that spun on the dyno at NOPI, that is who I am talking about. 458 HP.
Secondly, my best friend has a 68 bug with a 2160cc Gene Berg motor with a T3 turbo, fuel injection, Superflo heads, Engle 110 cam, fully balanced bottomend, Upgraded igniton running 14 lbs on race gas and 9 on pump. He ran an 8.4 with a blown clutch in 1/8 mi.

10-12 sec cars are all over the place here when it gets warm...

Boonieville + Chris = few good cars.
There are essentially no good cars around here, the people who have enough money for cars buy trucks, because they are hicks.

There is a Prelude around somewhere that has about 300hp, the guy has done quite a bit of work on it. But no one is a real challenge to him, and seeing his car is quite rare.

2 motors is possible. anyone remember the twin motored Tibiuron that was in the Super Street supercar challenge like 2 or 3 years ago? had 2 motors, one for front whels and one for the back wheels. in the gross display of horsepower challenge he engauages one in 1st gear and the other in reverse and then did a burnout that thurned into donuts!!! anyone else remember this?

The V10 that's in the Viper alone is almost 1/3rd the length of the car, and about 3/5ths the width of it. Where did they put this mythical 2nd engine, the hood?

You have to remember, this isn't no 2.0Liter, or a Caddy with a trunk you can fit several bodies in. BTW, both the Tibby's motor and the Northstar are transverse-mounted (sideways, like the Civic motors)which means they're compact.

Because it's such an outrageous setup that it's bound to have TONS upon TOONNSS of media attention. Just like the Quad Turbo Pro Street Z28 making 3500hp that's in Ohio if I'm not mistaken...Or like the 4.5L 4000hp Integra that's wherever. I'm in the scene, I keep up on automotive developments, and I talk to hundreds of people in the industry on a daily basis. not to mention I'm a moderator at one of the largest automotive webforums on the net. If it existed, it would have a huge media following. It would be at shows all over the place and stuff like that. I seriously doubt something like this could slip by me. But like I said, it is possible, just not likely.

AirAllen01

Well it doesn't put out anywhere near 4,000 hp's and a car like that really wouldn't have a big media following. Look at the Mustang that started out at 1100 hp, was in Motor Trend Mag (I believe), and has increased since. There wasn't a huge media following it around. It came to the Houston Raceway Park about 3 to 4 years ago. There wasn't a big media blow-up about the Hotwheels Twinmill either, and it produces 1800 hp.

Who the hell said it was AWD? Much less the "1000 hp, AWD, Tex Assault Viper"? He's an ordinary Joe who goes to the track Friday nights. So what? You haven't read it in a magazine so it's not true? Do you believe everything you read in the National Inquirer too?

Regular Joe's do not have $300,000 vehicles:eek7:
The custom fabrication of a compartment to PUT a second engine alone would be ludicriously expensive. Unless he did the work himself, this would more than likely be publicized. The SHOPS that do the work would get it publicized. More publication means more recognition means more business means MORE MONEY.
It's not all wheel drive? So both engines are mounted h-opposed to the driveline? One in front of the other? How does that work? Is the front end chopped off and extended limo-style? Two 500hp stock engines and they can't seem to make 1000hp combined and modded? "Tex Assault Viper" was what I'd called it if I was building it. The amount of time that would be required to build such a beast would gaurantee it would be publicized. It would take months and months, probably over a year, planning stages included. Every single day multiple new people would hear about it. I'm just saying...It sounds very very unlikely...

Okay, this guy comes from country land, where there is nothing but rich neighborhoods and miles of land between them. Around here he is an "ordinary joe." The mechanincs in these areas are almost geniuses, when it comes to riggin up something. Don't ask me how, I'm not a mechanic. My cousin built an old roadster from the ground up in a matter of months, so it wouldn't take years upon years to do. The shops in and around this area don't give a flip about "publicity". They aren't trying to go statewide or nationwide, and they have all the customers they need to get by where they are at. Friday night at the track is nothing but locals who pay $15-20 to take their car down the track. This guy is prolly a lawer or doctor, and already has a life, he's not trying to get famous, he's got other things to do. I never said that it didn't have 1000 hp. Also, is the Twinmill AWD? (just asking cuz I really don't know) As far as the multiple people hearing about it, there is noone around to hear about it. Have you heard of Kevin Turner? He comes from a small town called Liberty, he owns a Nitro Harley Drag team, and also a cycle shop. Most of the people have other things to do and don't care about being publicized. Also, if you're talking about this forum being one of the largest automotive forums, how many people here are from Houston, or better yet Baytown (since at the track you only have Baytown, Dayton, Libert, Anahuac, and maybe Beaumont on Friday nights)? I have yet to find someone from my area.

Yea ok...Well hey, since he's just a regular joe and you see him down at the track all the time in his twin engine Viper, please take pics so we can all see. Like I said it's possible, I'm just surprised I haven't heard about it. So please, pics and details, I wanna know how this is done.

I don't go to the track every friday night, I never said I did. I went one time and that's what I saw. I go to the Barnes and Nobles parking lot, and see a lot of good cars, supras, vipers, nsx's, 427 Shelby cobras, mustangs, camaros, mr2's, s2000's, civics, preludes, accords, vettes, 4x4 trucks, trucks that were slammed to the ground and draging. Sorry, for telling you guys what I saw, next time I'll stay out of your "big boy" stories.

:crying:

It's not even a matter of you being in or out of the stories. It's a matter of having the proof to back something so outrageous. You should understand that many people come onto automotive forums shooting off their mouth and telling lies to look good.

Twin engine viper.. cool idea if you had the room/money to do it. Nobody said it was impossible, just unheard of. If you really want to make us believe, then prove it. You say the twinmill didn't get much media attention, but I've seen it on TV... Same with the 4000 HP acura.

Hey look, no hard feelings here, but like I said, I only went to the track one time. I only went then cuz my friend raced his Camaro there every once and a while. If I had been expecting something like that, then I would've taken a picture, but it's random thing. I didn't expect that I would have to be proving this to somebody in VA, or any other state, over the internet someday. You can believe what you want, lies or no lies, but I was there and that's what I saw. Later, I'm out.

So...

Show me where the 2nd engine goes in...

If it's at the back, is it running the same wheels the front engine is?

How?

Cool pic, Nuttt. Yea, I don't see much room for an extra engine either...
If you actually SAW the twin engine, what was the setup like?
if you didn't actually see the twin engines, but heard that's what he was running, maybe you were mistaken and heard wrong. maybe they said twin turbo'd engine or something. Because as the picture shows...It'd be pretty difficult to do, ESPECIALLY if it wasn't AWD.

blah, blah, blah . . . .The best car I ever saw @ the track was either a top fuel funny car or top fuel dragster. Dont get me wrong 0-300+mph in 4 seconds is insane but, they only last for 30 seconds or so.

Best car? How about a 2003 Lamborghini Murcielago. It was in Austin BEFORE THEY WERE SUPPOSED TO BE IN THE UNITED STATES. Don't ask me how this guy got one, I don't even want to know. All I can say is that I have never in my life seen (on the road at least) a car this captivating.

I saw one driving on my home from my shop & almost rear ended the car in front of me because I was to busy looking at the Lambo & not paying attention. The one you saw was possibly a MFR car, for Motor Trend & stuff like that(testing). We used to get car for service way before the model was relased to the public. Motor Trend actually brought a '03 Accord 6-speed with 35,000 miles just as the '03 accords were being released, we had an element 3 months before release. Just because they aren't for sale doesn't mean they aren't here already.

This goddamn two-toned blue and silver 3rd Gen Trans Am at Old Dominion. I swear this thing does not lose to any car no matter what. It looks just about stock but watching that thing spin the tires you can tell he has quite a bit of work done to it.

Is the guy who runs it named Todd Arns? Everyone calls him TA. I think that might be who you're talking about. He lives in Dumphries. Tall guy with brown hair, about 28 or so. That him? He has a really really qucik 3rd'gen TA, that I know he's ran at Old Dominion a couple of times.

I've never seen the guy who drives it. I think its an automatic with one of those fancy racing shifters. The color looks exactly like this

I know this is off topic though but I stumbled upon this when looking for a similar pic of the 3rd Gen Trans Am. Toyota Celica? Competition for the Formula and Trans Am? Wtf that is insulting. Eclipse ain't exactly near it either but at least that has a turbocharger.
