how hard? 2.2L to the 2.4 DOHCbloodhound43 02-08-2003, 10:34 PM How hard is is to make the 2.4 DOHC engine fit into a base model 2.2 cav? bloodhound43 02-12-2003, 08:49 AM I need some advice plez. *cough (bump) bowtiebandit 02-12-2003, 09:12 AM Cant imagine it would be to hard. I think all the body mounts are the same but the engine portion may be different. You have to get all the electronics though. Shortbus 02-12-2003, 10:37 AM Salvage yards usually have the compatibility catalogs. I have done some light research in my parts catalog. Here is what I have found. The front engine mount is different, which is minor. The Powertrain control module is the same but it will have to be reporgrammed. The engine wiring harness is different they are around 1000.00 new but if you find a donor car this should be an easy swap. The transaxle is also different but in gear ratio only. The 2.4 trans uses a 3.91 final drive where the 2.2 uses 3.18 and 3.63. I belive this is the only difference so the 2.4 should bolt right up to the 2.2's transaxle. Like I said if you get a donor car the swap should work:) vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
