Early this fall I went in to get my cv boot replaced, they replaced it and it was fine for a day. The next day i was turning around in a parking lot and i felt a big clunk. I couldnt move it felt like i was in neutral but i was in first. I reved up t0 6000rpm and dropped the clutch didnt move an inch. So i called my performance shop i go to and they brought their tow truck and towed it. Later on i went down there and by cv boot was wrapped around the axle and i had to get a new axle. obviously this was their fault so they bought me a new axle and everything was fine. a couple weeks later i bought a header and they attempted to put it on (my dad wouldnt let me install it after my brothers exhaust problem). I went down there and the had broke my o2 sensor! so i had to wait a couple of days and the bill was like $600 bucks for a header install and o2 sensor i felt pretty ripped off but there was no way i could argue that one.

thats messed up man. yah i would say find a new shop too. and try to do the stuff on your own. if a shop breaks something they should be obligated to pay for it. for that o2 sensor and 600 bucks i would have taken those bastards to small claims court and won.

Yea find a new place or get buddy buddy with someone who knows how to fix cars. My cousin is a Tech for Lexus. Pretty kewl job and he loves it im sure.

Why wont your dad let you get exhaust? Its funny, I got pulled over for speeding the other night and the cop told me my exhaust was illegal. He showed me the book saying that I cannot mod my stock exhaust system in any way. I was shocked needless to say...but im sure even if you were to get a ticket for something like that, you can beat it. As long as not running a straight pipe...you should be ok.

to the thread starter...its that way at a lot of shops. really the best way to protect urself is either do the work urself (an its funner too), or find a shop where u kno someone, or that u have a close friend at a high position :D

i do most of the stuff its just that after my brother tried installing his exhaust he wanted me to get my header put on by a shop.

Do yourself a favor:
1.) Put the stuff on your own car, if you can
2.) You have got to find a better shop
3.) Rub some elbows and get in good with people in the import shop bizz, that is where you will make some sweet ass deals
It may take some time but in the end you will thank yourself.
One of the worst things about our hobby is the cost, but if you know people, then you have your work cut out for you.

If a cop ever tells me about modified exhaust, all I gotta tell him is the truth.

My muffler fell off, I modified it and put another one on that happens to be louder than the stock one, what are they gonna do?

Ive been pulled over 3 times in my car now and the cops have never said anything about my exhaust or my clear corner / bumper lenses. I also have only gotten a ticket 1 of those 3 times.
