does it fit easily?

assuming we're talking about an r34 with that motor, yeah it should...

if you're talking about an r33 or r32, it may not work as well..

if you're talking about two models of the same car ( the r34 in this case) it shouldn't be a problem..

it's like asking if the rb25 and rb26 both fit in the same car... they do...

just b/c the model of that vehicle may be different doesn't mean the parts are...

it's all different if you've got something other than an r34 rb26 car...

say i dropped an rb25det into my s14 and wanted to put on the r34 intercooler, would that work?

Are you talking about a R34 GTR I/C, or a GTT I/C. Why can't you use a R32 GTR I/C?

You can make anything fit:D

you missed the point...

you've got to be specific, as skylineusa pointed out..

there's different motors, different turbos, different i/c's on different models of the r34.

that is what we are both saying.

which one are you talking about?

What is up with only the R34? All the GTRs, and GTSt basically have the same engines.

my point exactly...

r34 is a model of car, just like a mustang would be, and there are gt's, lx's, base model cars, etc...

it would be helpful if he posted again, so we're not going back and forth. . .

What it comes down to is take the measurements of the I/C and see if you have the room, or if you can mak the room. I am sure you can make it fit. Go www.freshalloy.com they have a 240sx forum and pose the question to them, they should be able to help you better.

The I/C from any GTR will fit with a little modifications into any Skyline quite easily from the R30 upwards. Usually it means moving the horns, some bracket work, cutting of the front bumper for clearance, and new pluming for the pipe work.

It is a very good upgrade for any of the Non-GTR turbo skylines as the GTR front mounts will flow around 450hp without much stress. Your factory ceramic and in your case GTS25t ceramic/plastic turbo will thank you heaps. Yep that is righty our compressor wheel is plastic composite :)

he's putting it an a 240sx(silvia) though...

that's where the problem came in...

If that is the same car as the S13 1990'ish it should drop in quite easily. There are quite a few of those cars running around here in NZ with front mounts that are of the same size. About the only issues could be the end tanks. He will most likely need to have a new mounting bracket system done up. Other than that I am not quite sure what is located in the nose of that particular car. A guy rent a room in my house has an S13 with a large front mount in it and i will ask him what he had to do.

from his info it's a 95... isn't that s14 territory?

it sounds like it. I am not clued up the years and models. If it is an S14 then he should have little dramas putting the i/c in.

The main problem with that is the piping. The rb25 intake runs across the mtr to the left side. You have to run the piping from the right tank across the mtr to get to the throttle body.

he needs to go to www.unstable-hybrids.com. they make motor and transmission mounts for the RB25DET into a S14 240sx. they also make a intake for the engine that routes the intake to the right so it doesn't go over the (mtr?) valve cover.

btw for the 240/silvia the S13 is the model year...well in the US 1989-1994 and the S14 is from 1995-1998. in japan they had the 180sx S13 model with the SR20DET go all the way to 1998.

You can run piping back like a lot of guys with non-GTR's who put front mounts in their turbo cars. I've seen them 180 the piping back around and up through the factory holes or up on next the radiator and up over the top of the fan and back into the factory inlet on the RB20 and RB25 motors. Both have nearly identical inlets.

I will be a piping mess for sure. The other option is to either replace the intake runners with a plenum simular to what you have on the S14. Another option and what some have done here is split the factory intake on the RB25 engine, weld a new top section with a plate for the throttle body on the end that faces the front of the car. it has been done very successfully here and guys have seen great performance with it.

this is good thread , i was considering a fm cooler. i would think , its just pipe work , but aparenty, its not , its has alot to do with pressure drop bends in pipework etc, i think u should contact some one like arc /jp, trust , hks etc , unless the r34 cooler is real cheap

series 1 ceramic
series 2 plastic
