We need :help:!!! exhaust smoke 01-28-2003, 12:12 PM Jesus, put one of the caterhams on there and your credit limit will be exceeded! I have to say that I am really tempted to get one of those, but they're pretty pricy! Got to be Tamiya's most detailed car kit. Thor302 01-28-2003, 12:13 PM flyonthewall - :D ukemaxxer 01-28-2003, 12:46 PM I have just finished the JPE Caterham and I can say I was not as impressed as with the 1/24 kits. Fit of some parts to the chasis is not good at all and all those bloody tiny screws. It does look good but maybe my expectations were too high due to it being a Tamiya and £100. primera man 01-28-2003, 06:26 PM "posts email off to Fooesboy wife" :finger: :finger: :finger: :D integra818 01-28-2003, 10:40 PM My dad controls my HLJ disease, he makes sure I don't get addicted, you know what he does? He doesn't let me touch his credit card! Fooesboy 01-29-2003, 03:19 AM Originally posted by exhaust smoke Jesus, put one of the caterhams on there and your credit limit will be exceeded! Got to be Tamiya's most detailed car kit. @ Exhaust smoke, I already have the cycle fender special (the carbon pattern is very good, it will look soooo seeexy with the polished aliminum), and it will be my next 1/12 kit, as soon as I finish my Renault RE-20 @ Integra818, I have my own credit card........... maybe that's the problem! @ P Man, Keep my wife out of this!....... I tell her it only costs a little bit! :flash: :sun: :flash: Ragnarok043 01-29-2003, 04:08 AM i have been placing many orders on HLJ as well, about 5 orders in the last 2 months, but theyre mostly detail parts and mooks. you guys need to learn some self control, it was hard for me but you just gotta learn to hold off the urge to get every new kit that comes out. now i only buys kits that i MUST have, not kits that i want, they gotta scream BUY ME!!!!!! literally. exhaust smoke 01-29-2003, 04:49 AM While we're on the subject of HLJ, has anyone experienced an order cock-up from them?? I was waiting for my first order (out of four), and it came yesterday. I was pretty sus at the size of the box as it was only a Fujimi 1/24 kit, wheel set and a set of lights from Modellers. Opened it and they got the lights right, but gave me a Nissan S-14 Silvia and a Nissan 240Z!! How they got that wrong I don't know. Has anyone had a similar problem? How do they sort it out?? hirofkd 01-29-2003, 04:56 AM I heard from anime mode people that they mixed up MANY orders during and after the holiday season. You write to them, and ask if then want the wrong items to be shipped back at their expense. Usually, they tell you to keep those kits, and they'll send you the right items. If so, you just got free S14 and 240Z. :) exhaust smoke 01-29-2003, 05:30 AM Thanks Hiro! I had heard the myths about the mixed up orders before, and that they allow you to keep them as a courtesy. Anyways, I emailed them telling them of their mistake, and I await their reply (probably tomorrow). I would keep it in mind to tell them I would charge the shipping to them, if they want them back. Hehehe. Keep you posted. exhaust smoke 01-30-2003, 05:44 AM I AM HAPPY, HAPPY, HAPPY! Got home from work last night and two orders from HLJ arrived at once and were waiting for me. Got my long awaited Ferrari Enzo, Early Nissan Silvia Veilside and Honda CR-x. The Enzo is a beautiful kit, which I am planning to do a real proper job on. I want to put Carbon Fibre all over the neccessary parts. One very small point in the manufacturing of this kit is that seeing how extensively Tamiya went into the detailing of this kit, by providing opening panels, they did not provide an opening trunk/boot on the front. Possibly because there was no detail to show off, but it was be nice to be able to open everything!! The Veilside Silvia was great, loads of spare parts for me spares box!! Another little moan was that the wheels looked a bit on the small side!! Pics when I get started!! Fooesboy 01-30-2003, 05:55 AM @ Exhaust smoke, Where are you located??? HLJ sent this order the day after yours was sent.......... Does that mean I will get it today??????????????? Ohhh, I just might wet myself with excitement!!!!! :jump: exhaust smoke 01-30-2003, 06:07 AM @ Fooesboy I'm based in the UK. Proceed to wet yourself!! It's a great kit!! The instruction manual in like those you find in Tamiya's 1/12 F1 kits! I was reading the manual on the train to work thinking to myself that if there were any modellers on there at the time, they'll think the kit was in the shops already when it's not here!!:hehehe: :hehe: Fooesboy 01-30-2003, 06:16 AM Originally posted by exhaust smoke @ Fooesboy I was reading the manual on the train to work thinking to myself that if there were any modellers on there at the time, they'll think the kit was in the shops already when it's not here!!:hehehe: :hehe: You are EVIL ! :evillaugh Looks like I will have to go home after work instead of going to town!!!! exhaust smoke 01-30-2003, 06:20 AM Very EVIL!!! Yup, socialising is out of the question, the Enzo awaits!! Fooesboy 01-30-2003, 06:24 AM No socialising !, I have to go to town to pick my wife up!!!!!!! If I go home first I can clear away the evedence! exhaust smoke 01-30-2003, 06:30 AM Sounds bad! I know what, why don't you convert her into a modeller? That'l solve all your woes! I'm between laydeez at the mo' all I have is 'her' in my avatar. She doesn't complain when I spend money on models and not her!!:hehehe: :hehehe: vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
