speed problemj2kfreak 01-22-2003, 02:08 AM I have a 97 2.4L cavalier and my speed problem is that as soon as i get up to right about 105 it feels like my engen kicks out on me. What going on and why? Can any one help? Pikachoo 01-22-2003, 08:03 AM Starting in about 1990 or so, almost all cars started coming equiped with a speed limiter. That is what is happening. Some chips (hypertech maybe) remove the speed limiter, but I don't know which ones do that. If you really want to remove it, I would call around to the local performance shops, and tell them you want to order a chip that removes your speed limiter, and they should be able to point you in the right direction. :smoka: :smoka: chevyfreak 01-22-2003, 06:04 PM does it just stop accelerating or does the speedometer just not seem to be going anywhere fast? j2kfreak 01-22-2003, 09:02 PM It just stops excelerating after i get up to about 105. chevyfreak 01-22-2003, 09:42 PM does it actually decellerate like the gas line is shut off? but then turn back on when u get down to about 100 Rich 01-22-2003, 09:53 PM Already discussed limiters in this thread... http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/t82613.html Please look around before asking something that has already been discussed.
