SKYLINE VSPEC ll

I just bought the Tamiya Skyline R34 Vspec ll

from my local hobby shop


What should i do to it?

I plan on putting a metal wing. and painting it white(real car paint)

Nice, would look good in white, would be good to see another white Godzilla, so far mine is the only one I've seen :)

I'd say put on the Nismo LM-GT wheels, with the GT wing stays and the Nismo exhaust, lower it just a little bit...and maybe wait for Chris's SAS transkit to come out, it's coming out very soon.

Jose: I'm going to be doing one down the road. I plan on making a wind for it with styrene. It will be white with blue flames. I'm not sure about wheels yet. I like your idea with the wing. Maybe you could do some sort of custom paint. Get some stripes or flames going. I've been looking here for some ideas: Truck World (http://www.truckworld.com) It's all trucks, but there are some really nice paint schemes in the Street Scene area. Good luck.

im not waiting on chris's kit cuz i want it to be stock except for the wheels and wing,

I was origanly going to buy a 350Z from the store but i saw they had this(thier selection of tamiya sucks) so i bought it, so chris the kit i planned on buying from u for the 350 is put on hold till spring!

why don't you finish your other projects first?? like the "blitz" supra or the accord in your signature?? or were they too hard for you?

I'll be making RB26 among other engines after I finish the ITR turbo kit, but for the time being, just get a Tamiya R32 GT-R. That's probably easiest and cheapest.

I like R32s and R33s more than i like the R34 so if i got one with an engine than i would build it with the engine!

Why do you have incents or even work cig smoke near your models? Isnt that bad for the paint jobs?

I don't think I ever saw a Skyline with clear tail lights. I think it looks pretty good. The rest of the model looks great too. :D

Doesn't look too bad but you can't really tell! Quite like the clear tailights, something different i suppose!

I equate clear tails with Civics.

Please dont put clear tails on a skyline.

U can buy a single bottle for a 1.49 CDN.

Besides youve dropped 20-35 bucks on a model, you can save up for a set that will be good for ALL cars.

umm.. here in NC USA we cant just buy one bottle unless it is a main color like black or that type of shit, and here they cost $1 USA

It costs like $1.25 here in NY if I remember right.... (and I don't live in the city either)

That $1 will last you over a handfull of models...

agreed on the tail-lights. please paint them somehow. why don't you just order some handpaints from an internet site? if you can't do that, then don't bite my head off, it was just a suggestion. i would say that it would be in your best interests to get that paint set. could prove very useful for many other models in the future. other then that it looks pretty good though.

plz plz i beg u not to rice out your car like that by not painting the taillights..........

Why build models if you're not willing to spend money? I baught a $3 bottle of tamiya park green to paint 3 buttons on the dash on one of my cars.

And no, I don't have money to burn, I save the $20 I get from my dad weekly for lunch money, and I spend it on models, I rather build a model that have some food, would'nt you???

Well I'm going to go against the general opion on this thread and say that I like the clear tail lights!

However, I would pit a little bit of colour behind them, i.e. Paint the back in silver then a light coat of clear red / orange, just enough to get an impression of colour.

BTW, I have the Tamiya pots of clear red/orange/smoke/blue/green/yellow........ I've had them for years...... just one of thoes things you just have to have IMO
