I just done the Skyline R34 Loctite Zexel. It's not a 100% clean job cos it's the fist time I try clear coat over decals so I learned a lot on this kit.....

Comments are more than welcome !

Picture avalable here (http://pages.infinit.net/magietec/models/) in Racing Car section.

I rarely buy new kits, but when I do, it's from any of the hobby shops in Montreal. I usually buy discontinued kits that I want from ebay.ca you can find just about anything from there. The shipping from the US is sometimes expensive, so I try to buy from Canada whenever I can.

I like it :), I have to build mine one day.
as noted before the clear coat works well, I'm always to affaid to do it
so leave them without.

Hi Vric

Since you have learned a lot on this kit, can you please give some tips on appplying clear coat?
Thanks

As has alread been said - great model and great website

You say you learnt a lot with this kit after clearoating your decals. Is there anything we should know about? The reason I ask is that I'll soon be clearcoating my 206 WRC and am a bit wary of trashing the decals :uhoh:

I have tryed 2 Clear coat on scrap model: Tamiya and testor.. and I can say Testor is easyer to work and give better result..

the only thing you need, it a smooth surface.. if your decal isn't smooth, it will be hard.. BUT, I had 1 decal not smooth (overheated) the Number on the right side.. and Clear goes over it and it is perfectly smooth now..

So all in all.. wait at leat 1 week after your paint dry.. Wait at least 3 day after decals are apply, and use Testor Clear (one of the best I used... Testor paint sux, but there clear is really good and cheap)

It's easyer than we think

Oh, and when you spray the Testor Clear, don't panic.. it does look rugh.. but after 5 minute or so, it look way better.. and a second coat make a perfect job...
