does "TORNADO" really work?ishydaflip 10-04-2001, 03:04 AM I just watched this info-mercial on TV about a product called the "Tornado." It somehow allows better air flow thru your intake system, which apparently gives you improved gas mileage, hp gains up to 24+, & better fuel/water ratio...is this really true??? If anyone knowz about this product, let me kno if itz legit. It costs about $70. Thanks greekman 10-04-2001, 03:18 AM do you know of any info-mercial products to fufill their info-promises. i can't either. but hey, smoke 'em if you got 'em.:smoker2: if you don't mind spending the money, check it out, tell us what you think. but imo, it's probably crap. Minitrucker88 10-04-2001, 03:25 AM tornado's are a bunch of bs. if someone can explain to me how placing a restriction in the path of the itake air can provide better flow, please do. i dont care what you stick in there, blocking air flow does not help hp or mileage. ive seen a few cars with them and the owners always have told me it didnt do anything. ive also seen them in person and it looks like a 2cent piece of tin mangled into a fan shape, with very sharp unfinished edges. not something i would recommend. NismoPC 10-04-2001, 07:35 AM OH NO! A Tornado!!!!!!! http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif Better watch out. It's a Tornado http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif InfoMercial + Tornado = Bwahahahaha! http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif Sorry! Got carried away! P11GT 10-04-2001, 08:57 AM i think ive seen something similar called the "TURBO JET" , and since no one has a link to this "Tornado" thing-ummy, heres one for this. http://www.goflychina.com/invoauto/Frame%202.htm Tell me, is it BULLSHIT or What?? cos it anit cheap over here. It works out about $200 US compared to your $70. Rip off or what?? Nismoboy1 10-04-2001, 10:08 AM oh no, not this question again...this should belong in the FAQ's on g20.net...along with the "Does the Spiral-max work?" and "Does the Electric Supercharger (aka E-Ram) work?" to answer your question...NO NismoPC 10-04-2001, 10:22 AM HMMM? Which one would you suggest? The Conair Ultra Quiet 1875 http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580/1d/pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/71103/200.jpg OR The Vortex Platinum Jet Speed Hair Dryer, 3 Power Settings http://a1468.g.akamai.net/f/1468/580/1d/pics.drugstore.com/prodimg/44893/200.jpg I think the three power settings are for normal driving, moderate driving, and all out drag If I were to put one of these inline with my intake, run it on cool instead of hot, and buy 100 50ft Extension cords: What would the Horsepower increase be? Would this increase in air flow and improve my 1/4 mile times? http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif Anthony 10-04-2001, 10:33 AM lmao :hehehe: howard_w13 10-04-2001, 11:04 AM I wouldn't waste my money on it. That was my smart ass attempt at showing you how good those Tornado's are. http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif http://www.sr20deforum.com/NonCGI/rofl.gif I still think I'm gonna try the Vortex Platinum Jet Speed on the highest speed and run it on a Dyno. OK, I'll stop. I'm getting caried away again! JustinP10 10-04-2001, 06:39 PM I know another product that does about the same thing as this tornado... Just take a big object, shove it in your intake, so almost no air can get past, then start driving around. Better yet, just get a big ass cork and shove it in the intake. the higher suction pressure in the intake combined with the resin in the cork will allow you to run more timing advance.. and with.. with the umm.. With the added umm... damn ran outta BS... :D PS. This is really in no way related to your question, other than it's about the infomercial car products... And I noticed you already got a good answer from other people. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
