i cant figure out the damn rim changing shit i have tried like 10000000 times and it is pissing me off im using the tutorial at

and i use the circle thingy but like it just makes a big white circle over the rim

that would be the wrong tool thats the draw cicle

you want to right click on the square selection marquee in the top left of the tool window and select the circle

or use polylasso tool
