I used to have this 1994 Camry V6 LE (first of the rounder ones) purchased new, and ran past 150,000 miles in under 5 years (that's 30,000 miles a year). The thing is, it was NOT driven passively. Many, many, burnouts and hard driving accumulated to nothing more than regular maintenance. Seriously, the car held together like magic. Even after a T-bone collision midway though my ownership, it never faltered.

People tend to think that all japanese cars are alike, but they CANNOT COMPREHEND the genuine durability of a Toy, until they own one. Not only do they generally outlast every other japanese auto on the road, but they also put up with shit from the aggressive folk. Nissans and Hondas I've experienced before both performed above and beyond the call of duty, but no where near the abuse factor that was inflicted on the Camry which preceded them. Obviously, I am back with Toyota, and therefore I am truly a satisfied return customer.

Myself used to have a '88 Hilux 2.0l......sold it at 190,000km and this ute never let me down either.

I don't own a Toyota, I own a Mustang and its ten times more reliable than any Toyota ever made..... HAHHAHAHA just fucking with you guys... No but seriously my friends dad has a 88 Cressida with over 296,000 miles on it, and that car is amazing, still drives like a dream, quiet as hell, smooth, can't even feel the tranny shift, the only thing he has had problems with is electrical, but nothing major, the motor however is strong as day one. and he drives this car about 150 Miles a day.. unreal.. My other friend has a 85 Corolla GT-S with 206,000 miles on the original motor, Only thing ever done to the car was replace the radiator and clutch.. I can't believe how reliable these cars are....He drives the shit out of that car every day... thats why sometime in the near future i hope to obtain a Supra Twin Turbo.. Go Toyota

My Old man had a 1994 Camry that i would have LOVED to have for myself.

The only problem was...I TORE THAT BABY UP!

It went thru 2 sets of BRAND NEW tires ina year.
I did everything in that car..Burn outs, doughnuts. One time, i had to replace a tire rim, messed up the 360*.

When we got rid of it in 2000, for the newer model...i was upset, but on the plus side, i got a new one, though i would have rather gotten the 2002 model.

I dont plan of drivin it like i use to, this one is sporty, has a moon & rims. I want to get a body kit...but i dont know if i will get the car later in it's lifetime.

My mom has a 2000 Avalon V6, I LOVE DRIVING THAT CAR!!

I've topped out @ 145..ran out of road :(
It is SO quick!

I have a 1992 Cressida Grande, 155,000klms. Have had minimal trouble with it,
-tailshaft center support bearing. (unexplained problem A$300 part!)
-faulty headlight switch
-bent R/H strut (previous owner must have hit curb. Puts caliper out of line and causes brakes to rub)
Beautiful car to drive, goes well, just a bit heavy on fuel:(

You could always make one. Then the hard part would be finding a flange adapter to connect the MAF sensor to whatever plumbing you decide on (you can always get cheap plastic piping at the hardware store and wrap it in thermal tape). Just make sure the piping is available with elbows for the bends. Ghetto mods save you dough and usually work just as well (and are more fun to tinker with IMO).

As much as I adore my past and current Toyotas, I still like the feel of a Nissan for some reason.

99 Corolla. Has 50k miles. I bought with about 10 k. I bought it thinking I will only keep it for a few months and trade it in for something more flashy. Hell NO!! I am keeping this baby. Excelent fuel consumption, looks good enuff and very reliable. Love it!

i got a 79 RA42 celica GT coupe with 362k miles on it. i hit redline in every gear every day. engine was completely stock until 350k miles and has only recieved a couple bolt ons and external mods. entire bottom end is stock. only mod to the head is a .460" lift cam with stock valve springs. ill rev to 6200 RPM (redline is 5500RPM) with no valve float. toyotas rock. also my friend at my work (deliver pizzas) has an 86 pickup with completely stock 22R with 512k miles. he drives over 300 miles a day on it and it runs like a champ. as long as you change the oil on these cars every 3000 miles (i havent changed mine in over 7000) and change the belts and make sure timing is on then these cars will last forever. until the body rusts out then you get a new body.

Currently I have an 87 Corolla LE that I got for $650 US. It has 130,000 miles on it. Runs great after some minor tuneups. I've had an 88 Chev Nova (same as corolla) sold it, 86 Corolla, that frame got bent when I got rear ended and 2 82 RWD Corolla's. I think Toyota's..Corollas are awesome, great on gas, great to drive I will never hesitate to buy another when I need another car. I've found "my car"

Parents own a '96 Toyota Tercel (silver) with over 82,000km on it. We got it used in '98. Its got some bumps and scratches and some rust spots on it thanks to my bro for not taking care of it since he mostly drives it. I'll get my own car one day, it'll most likely be a Corolla. Beautifull thing about our car is dispite all the abuse it takes it still runs.

I have three 1977 Corolla wagons and two 77 two door coups. ! wagon which I call Madam Blue is featured in cardomain.com AND carstereo.com.She just took her 6th 1st place trophy in a row and is touring the carshow circuit at the moment down here in Ga.She has 360,000 miles and just recently has just a little puff os oil smoke when I first start her up in the mornings. She has 2500 watts of sound RMS in her and fully redonr interior that just amazes people when they see it.My 2nd wagon I am redoing currently is also still running and it has 270,000 miles on it she is ugly right now hince redoing her. I am making her look just like Madam Blue on the outside but on the inside shell be totally updated and wild,Hince her name will be Misty, Madam Blues evil twin.(people get a kick out of that).the third wagon I am turning it into a camper as the engine is shot and so is the tranny, So I figured ok,theres plenty of extra parts now and what the heck, cut it in half and turn it into a camper to be pulled by either M.B, or Misty.( not finished with it yet so its not posted anywhere yet.the coupes are in storage for when I am finished with all three wagons. probably next year.If anyone wants more info they can email me for pix or what ever at rollenhays@mchsi.com<img="C:\Documents and Settings\Owner\My Documents\My Pictures\New Folder (3)">

I have an 84 Toyota Van. Engine was rebuilt at around 195,000 miles. Why early? Well, my uncle, who owned the van before he gave it to me, really didn't maintain it too well. I don't think he had the oil changed very often in it. Then at 204,000 miles, the headgasket blew. When I pulled the head, I found out it was a cheap aftermarket kind. BTW, a Toyota dealer rebuilt the engine and they used AFTERMARKET! Ugggh! I bought an OEM headgasket, which in twice as strong as the aftermarket, put it in, had the injectors rebuilt, and got my engine back together and running. It's a bit of a rust bucket, but hope to get all that fixed soon. I added driving lights underneath the front bumper and they come on when my parking lights come on. I also did a total rewire of my headlights due to a poor connection of the original relay with the fusebox. They're much brighter now and work 100% better. Transmission is still original, except for the torque convertor, and shifts pretty firmly. Oh, and the engine is mounted under the front seats. But these things are actually easier to work on than most cars today.

http://kc.cognitivelube.com/Progress%20013.jpg

Oh, and I made my engine nice and pretty as I was putting it back together.

I gave up my Toyota because it was in the shop and my Alpine system was stolen by somebody in the shop. Owner wouldn't pay for the replacement, so went down the street and traded it off for a Nissan. That was 14 years ago. I put 194,000 miles on it and now my 16 year old is driving it. Doesn't use one drop of oil, never left me stranded. Boys that work and go to school with my kid are always asking if it's for sale cause it's in such good shape.
