Untested Keyless Entry programming Procedure

Folks:

I read this procedure for reprogramming a keyless entry on a 98 Camry here:

Hi! I have a 98 XLE and to program my keyless entry you have to pop out the button for the outside mirror control. Behind there is what looks like a small grid. If you taking a paperclip and put it in the #2 slot and the #10 slot with the keys NOT in the ignition, your vehicles locks will engage. When they do, press any button on the key fob and the vehicle will unlock. That's it. You'll need to do both remotes because this method reprograms the remotes completely. My local dealership wanted $75 for this and told me they had to hook it up to a computer. Hope this helps!

It sounds a bit risky and wanted to know if anyone else has tried this with success before I try it out...

Another question is: how do you do both of your remotes with this procedure? It sounds like the system resets as soon as you do one...
