I'm not sure if I'm posting this in the right section, but it has something to do with turbos(in a laugh out loud kinda way) so here goes. I was looking through the latest import tuner and read an ad for a turbo noise simulator by Sunami. I swear I read the article 3 or 4 times just to make sure my eyes weren't fooling me. This has to be the greatest insult to the import world since those bass in a nos bottle speakers (no offense to those who own them). Not only is this crap $140 bux, but the article actually read, and I quote "Rated #1 product by auto enthusiasts!"

Yeap, I've seen that nonsense before too. Absolutely horrible, but the worst thing is, people will actually buy it:(

It is beyond me why someone would want to waste $140 on that crap. I have also seen the ones that clip inside the tip of your muffler thats supposed to do the same thing. Whats the point? Those thingd are supposed to simulate bov's, but yeah there is no sound of a spool-up let alone im sure people will be really scared of that fake bov sounds while they are passing their slow asses.

And, there's more! A kid up heeyah in New Hampshire steals CO2 bottles from the local 7-11 and vents them under his hood cowl to simulate an NOS purge! PURE RICE!!! and sadly, so typical of the "high rev tuner" croud, at least 'round these parts....

That reminds me of something I did this weekend at the Montgomery drag strip. Two guys showed up, one with a late 90's Cobra and the other with a 1.8T VW Golf. We were racing earlier and I had run the 14.012 @ 100.5 and wanted to run the Stang.

My friend insured me that to run slower would probably get them out there to race, so I ran an 18sec 1/4". They said it sounded like one of thos BOV simulators because I was going so slow! It worked though, on my way back around, they were paying to race. I ended up racing the new Cobra owner and handing him his ass. I believe his best for the day was a 14.2. Fun.....

That's appalling, If you're gonna spend money to make your car look or soud faster, you might as well spend the money to make it actually go faster, :eek:

I did the same thing civickid did, I had to read it over and over.It just doesnt make any sense.Its expensive it doesnt improve your performance it just lets you pretend that your car is the shit.

just wait till a rock hits it and makes it to the throttle body 1st i dont think a rock/pebble would be able to rip thru the filter and i dont think it would be light enough to be sucked up that far to make it to the tb, and they do come with shields

LoL and if someone asks how I came to it, I was looking for BOV sounds (for a video game)

OMG!!! What the!!! Who the!!! Why the!!! That guy had ta be joking about all that stuff on his neon...it's like he was trying to be the perfect stereotypical ricer! Whata fool...Whatever though, it's his car. If we lived in the same state though I wouldn't deal with it. I think I'd steal his car and wreck it... not to my surprise though, he'd probably be like, dude, sweet mods...my car is the s**t now!

I don't see why those who are making a big deal about a person wanting a BOV simulator are doing so. Maybe they dont care about the performance aspect, but simply like the noise a BOV/simulator makes.
