Anyone here go to DeVry or know anyone who goes there? I am thinking about going there for the spring semester. Is it a good school. It sounds pretty good to me so far. But a little info from someone in-the-know would be helpful.

 hey everyone .. well like any school its an alright one, went to ITT my self and most of my class mates came from DeVry. The truth is its a good very expensive school, give's you what you need but just enough to get your foot in. The school is only as good as as much effort you put in to it. You pay the 60k for ur BS and you can graduate and still have no real knowlage of what you spent your 3-4 years learning. But if you realy try and put 100% effort in to the field it should be great for you. so going to a regular university or a tech university the only diffrence depends on your self, and how much you want to learn. Hope i helped...

Please please please please please, do not go to ITT. It's a ridiculous school. Wait, scratch that, it's not a school at all, it's a business. They're there to make money. That's not to say that you won't learn anything, but you'd be MUCH better off going to a community college for the same program.

I took the EET (Electronics Engineering Tech) program at ITT, and spent about $25,000 for tuition. They were very poorly staffed (The only teachers they could retain were retired military folks, who were good teachers, but the rest of them didn't give a damn because they got paid in peanuts). The equipment we used was pretty horrible. The building we were in didn't have ANY grounded outlets, so every project we worked on had a 60Hz buzz. For one of our quarters, they WAY over-booked the first quarter classes (because they no that the dropout rate is SOOOO high in first-quarter, they can make a bundle of money without actually having to do much), and our 6th quarter class had to actually spend several hours a day inside a tiny conference room with one table in the center, not even enough room for all of us to have a book open at the same time.

ITT's big selling point is that you don't have to take a bunch of Humanities classes. But this also means that they are not an accredited school, so your credits won't transfer anywhere. You may be able to test-out a few quarters at another school, but not a direct credit transfer.

Another really messed up thing is that they have their recruiters come in DURING CLASSES and try to sell you on doing a 3rd year program for a BS. This happens ALL THE FUCKING TIME, and it wastes our time as students. One time it happened when we were doing a review for our finals, and we ended up quite litterally telling the guy to "Get the fuck out of here"... We'd had enough of that shit.

Personally, I have no experience with the community college programs, but from what I hear from many many people is that they are generally better staffed, better equipped, better managed, more diverse, and most importantly, they cost around a tenth of the tuition for ITT. Plus, since they aren't really a business, they don't interrupt your class time to pitch a third year program to you.

I haven't heard alot about DeVry... Someone told me it was a good school, but didn't support it with any reasons, so I don't know.

What I do know is that ITT IS A HUGE FUCKING WASTE OF MONEY!
