Elva Courier

So does anyone know of the Elva Courier? This was a classic British sports car, very rare, and quite quick. A Courier MK IV took the E Production championship this year in the SCCA Runoffs.

They were available with a number of 4 cylinders, ranging from a weak Ford mill, the MGA 1600 engine, and even a BMW supplied engine.

Most people haven't, they're quite rare.

I've also never heard of it, but it looks to be very nice! It looks to be very light, and i can imagine that it would offer excellent driver feedback. Do you have any more links to more information?

The MK IVs look the best IMO.

Saw one once in a parking garage, 1975 or 1976. Haven't seen one since.

Come to think of it, that's the only street driven one I've heard of, all the photos I see in books on on websites are of race-prepped cars.

Yes, they didn't make very many, and they were always intended to be racers, not street cars.

I hope to be able to restore one of these, if I can find one. I don't care if I lose money on it, I think it would be really fun, especially once I get to drive it...

I happen to have one and would like to find a good home for it. A '59 Mark I Courier; never a street car. Stored for a while, but a really quick, light car. Excellent handling, and just a kick to drive.

absoloutely, the Coouiers are beautiful, my dad used to own a MK2 in the early 70's, I still wish he'd never sold it.
