I am always amazed at how good my kits look in photographs. To answer some questions, It is a Tamiya kit, and I have added a small photoetch sheet from some japenese company I found on the net (I can't read the name........ it's in Japanese). I have also used the seat belts from S27, Modelers braded lines and hose fittings (not yet in any of the photos), as well as carbon fiber decals from Scale Motor Sport and Fanticy Print Shop (UK). And also the Faux Fabrix from SMS, (Very hard to get hold of out side the continental US, I found a place in Germany who has it!) The disc's are too thick, but they are the standard kit part, I am thinking of removing them and drilling the vent holes in the ends, that would help give the illusion of being thinner, but because the wheels will not be removible you will not be able to see the holes or the fact that it is too thick. I have scratch built the shocks, I followed the instructions from www.msmodels.co.uk , the guy who does this site has some realy good tips that are easy to follow. This process was lots easer than I first thought, infact this is my first attempt. I have painted the base colour onto the body, I am now avoiding spraying the clear coat because I dont want to mess up the nice gloss finish. Then I need to spray the black line around the body............ A quick question now, in the instructions it says to use diffrent lenght wing mirrors on each side????????? All the reference photos don't show this? Any comments? I will attach some more photos..... if I can find that link again....... http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/334445MVC-002S.JPG http://files.automotiveforums.com/uploads/257129FerrariF-40.JPG Vric 12-14-2002, 09:56 AM you are certainly not a newbee in modeling ! welcome ! JE123 12-14-2002, 11:11 AM  Amazing work. And welcome to the forums. I hope mine looks as good as that when I do it. Thanks for the site that showed how to make shocks. It looks really easy to do. ales 12-14-2002, 11:16 AM Originally posted by Veyron ... Would it be Acu Stion by any chance? If it is can you tell me where you bought the etched parts from because I can't find them anywhere :(. I also want the Acu Stion F50 etched parts. Originally posted by Fooesboy A quick question now, in the instructions it says to use diffrent length wing mirrors on each side????????? All the reference photos don't show this? Any comments? If I remember rightly (I checked the box when I received the parcel, but my Mum has the kit now  because I'm getting it for Christmas :D) there are a long and a short pair of mirrors and you use either one or the other. I'm definitely going to use the short ones because I think the long ones would detract from the look of the car. http://www.tamiya.com/japan/products/list/24car_img/24077m.jpg Here is a picture of the assembled Tamiya model, but it's difficult to tell if the wing mirrors are the same length or not. Here (http://www.allsportauto.com/sportphoto.php3?zl_idMD=159) are some good high quality pictures of the exterior if you don't already have these. magicmanjk808 12-14-2002, 03:41 PM welcome to af  great job on the interior. it looks fantastic. Fooesboy 12-14-2002, 04:33 PM I bought the PE set through Grand Prix Models in the UK www.grandprixmodels.com Sorry but I just dont know the name........ They are not in stock at the moment and they don't list the F50 parts, so I will have to contact them when I have the money to pay for them. Pleeeeeeeeaaaaaaase can we have pictures of the outside :D cause I'd love to know what the etched mesh looks like. Guido 12-15-2002, 04:26 PM Hi Fooesboy, Glad you made it to AF! Welcome!!! :D Finally I get to see your F-40 and I have to say it looks stunning!! Keep up the good work and keep the progress pics coming! The thing about the mirrors: Ferrari used a different pair on their first F-40 prototypes, but I don't know which ones where used on which. I don't know cause I don't have the kit. If you post a pic of the mirrors I might be able to tell you from the pics I have here.... Also their vertical openings in the rear wing were different from the prototype to the production car. (Proto had 4 openings whereas the production had 5). Eat your heart out Ferrari lovers :finger: this is the Benz maniac who's helping out here... :D :D Cheers, Guido RyanGiorgio 12-15-2002, 05:11 PM Look at all those dots on the brake rotors! Looks awesome. Great detail. Gainsbourg 12-16-2002, 06:27 AM First of all welcome to AF. :) Superb work you are doing in that F40. I’ll be waiting to see the conclusion of this one and the progress of your future projects. Fooesboy 12-16-2002, 06:40 AM Thanks for all the kind works! :D :D My cars really don't look very good, well I'm never happy with the result. I tend to work on loads of different project at the same time, this F-40 has been put aside "to let the paint dry" (well that's my excuse) After posting the pics and receiving all the comments I clear coated the body last night. I think it needs some more colour though  I will give it a polish in about a week and decide then. So please don't expect this car to be finished any time soon! I asked Guido for some reference photos when I started........... Do you remember when that was Guido ??????? must be at least 6 months! With everyone so interested, I guess I better hurry this one up! primera man 12-16-2002, 08:17 AM Great looking work :) Welcome along to AF also. http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbulletin/images/smilies/wave.gif http://www.gifs.net/animate/welcome.gif Guido 12-16-2002, 08:20 AM Originally posted by Fooesboy I asked Guido for some reference photos when I started...........
