1999 Silverado, AT Hard Shift 1st to 2ndRickMan 12-16-2007, 03:36 PM Occasionally, and I mean once in awhile, when I'm driving the AT has a very harsh shift from 1st to 2nd. Easing up on the gas doesn't help. However, I can turn off the engine and turn it back on and it goes away. This doesn't happen all of the time, just occasionally, i.e., once a month or so. Anyone else have experience with this problem? I have the tow package w/trans cooler and I have my tranny serviced at least once a year and fluid level is good. maxwedge 12-16-2007, 04:11 PM This can be caused by the chronically troublesome press. control solenoid in the trans, usually will set a code p1811. You may want to have the trans scanned at a trans shop for solenoid functions and codes.
