1973-74 Start relay on the firewall

I have been running into issues with my starting system and have run into a dead end. I have replaced the wiring, starter, all battery cables, ground strap, and tested the alt. and all work fine. (also removed the alarm system)
When I run my high watt stereo, I get a no start, or delayed start when I turn my ignition key.
Battery is still strong, and with the no start, if I jump the car, it starts right up. There is a relay on the firewall with a little button that says start, I have to hit the button before it starts and I can find no reference to this thing anywhere. Anyone run into this before? Anyone ever remove this and what is it's purpose...

Welcome to AF!! By the way '73-'74 what??

I've owned cars of that era and never seen what you're asking about. Maybe some one else can shed some light with some more info as to make, model, motor, mods, etc from you.

welcome to AF. The device on the firewall is a seatbelt starter interlock override, no seat belt buckled, no start. Please post the required info everytime you come on, basics, thanks.

I have no idea what the basics are dude.... Just asking a question as I thought forums were for. Since I was able to follow the wires and they lead abcolutly nowhere! With the exception of the starter side. Any idea how to override or remove it?

listen to the mod he's right. you just need to say what year what make and all that good stuff. i see you put down there what it was..again he's prety much right. and if you ever have charging problems if not alt. it's horn relay.
