Took out stereo, now heater/blower won't turn on!paqman 12-14-2007, 01:18 PM Ok, here's the story. I pulled out my stereo the other day to hook up some wires to the aux-in. I put the stereo and console back in. Next day I get up to go to work, and the temperature knob for the heater (the one with the red and blue arrows on it) just turns and turns and turns. It's obviously not connected to anything. The blower would turn on, and I could change the air speed and what not, but it was stuck on cold air, so needless to say, I froze my butt off during my commute to work the other day. So last night I pull open the console again and find that the knob for the temperature had just popped off the gear controller or whatever you call it. so I snapped it back on and all is well. I had to take the stereo out and leave it out for a while to work on it, so I did not put the stereo back in, but didn't think that would make a big difference for the heater. I didn't think to turn on the car to see if it worked, but I figured that the disconnected knob was the only problem. Stupid me. So this morning I get up to go to work, and though the knob now turns how it should, the heater/blower will not turn on at all! Like it has no power or connection or anything! Does the stereo have to be in and connected for the heater knobs and everything to work? Why all of the sudden can I not turn on the blower at all? Also, I don't know if this matters or not, but I didn't fully snap the console back into the dash yet, cause I plan on putting my stereo back in soon, and pulling that thing off is a pain in the butt! Thanks for any replies. Davescort97 12-14-2007, 07:49 PM Take it off again and check the electrical harness connectors. One might not be firmly attatched. Check for a blown fuse. 30 amp heater. paqman 12-14-2007, 10:30 PM Take it off again and check the electrical harness connectors. One might not be firmly attatched. Check for a blown fuse. 30 amp heater. Thanks, I'll give that a try. Might have to wait till tomorrow when it's not 15 below freezing though! paqman 12-15-2007, 12:43 PM I found that there was another connector that had popped off when I was taking the stereo out. That fixed it. Thanks for your help! vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
