Nice! Tell us some more, please! Is it the image or is that a white metal frame?! Where did you get the rear tire?
Build looks promising, what color is it gonna be?

Hi Joel,

maybe it was the bad light yesterday evening, no, it is just the dechromed frame from the kit. Engine wonīt be very detailed, as it can hardly be seen under the fairing.

The rear tire you find here http://www.automobilminiaturen.de/shop/xtcommerce/index.php?cat=c86_Revell-Bikes-1-12.html , of course the wheel needs some changes, that it will fit.

Concerning the colour one thing is sure:

This is not what it will be:

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6533663639663237.jpg

... this will be a toy for boys, not girls, so it might be light blue :dunno:

Interesting idea, Gio, but than it seems be easier, to start with the Bimota kit.

Micha-

This is one nice Busa. I like the name of the project too. The swing arm looks good. I'm thinking about doing my busa or ZXRR stretched and salmmed too. I thought about doint the swing arm in brass and that way I could chrome it, but haven't decided yet. I hear you on the details on the motor as it won't be seen. Sometimes I detail areas that won't be seen and wonder why. Keep us updated on this project. It is sweet.

I've been following this build but don't have much to say since I know little about bikes. I am enjoying where this is going, and the Gulf livery is cool!

So I feel bad about popping just to ask:

The rear tire you find here http://www.automobilminiaturen.de/shop/xtcommerce/index.php?cat=c86_Revell-Bikes-1-12.html , of course the wheel needs some changes, that it will fit.

Who makes that tire? Shipping to the USA from overseas is a lot, and I'd love to find a stateside distributor. Thanks!

Hey Micha, beautiful work you are doing here, excellent idea for the livery. I don't know much about this bike but its gorgeous. Before the paint went on, it reminded me of some futuristic bike like you'd find in the movie Tron.

Hi willmo,

I guess this tire is a production of automobilminiaturen.

Here some update:

Parts after covering with clear (no polishing yet)

Hi,

thanks for the comments !!!

A wide rear tire brings a problem: the tire and the chain will have contact. But there is a solution: the chain must be placed a little bit more away from the longitudinal axis. No problem at the rear axle, but usually the chain leads between transmisson and frame to the bevel wheel. So you need another axle with 2 bevel wheels at the swingarm.

Here a 1:1 bike:

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6238633131616239.jpg

here at the model:

Chain from transmission to "bevel wheel axle"

etched chain from "bevel wheel axle" to the rear

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3866666334636636.jpg

later this area will get a cover, similar to the 1:1 photo

Hi,

yes you wait for a mock up, but before I had to solve some problems fixing the rear wheel, nevertheless here is a little update:

Frontfairing 95% finished

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3939336232346138.jpg

Cover for the bevel wheels

Maybe someone realized, that I opened the area, where the co-driver sits. Here I put in a NOS-bottle, built like this:

upper part of a injektion

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/3535333566303532.jpg

putty, sanding, primered

coloured in blue, handwheel from a firebrigade-kit

http://foto.arcor-online.net/palb/alben/28/1077928/6636666666613262.jpg

can look like this

I really like the swingarm with the cable loops you made. The front fairing is fantastic, super clean with the signal lights and mesh.

Very interesting idea for the chain? I wondered how you would fix that problem with clearance?
Is that NOS for a suicide run??? I wouldn't want to ride it!
