Just finished installing new clutch and flywheel on 97 s-10 2.2 manual. I then found washer type piece with holes for bolts that goes between flywheel and motor that I forgot to put on. Is this piece necessary? Also, am trying to remove old bearing in housing that fits over splined shaft. It is spring loaded. Anyone know of the trick in removing it? I have a new one that came in the clutch kit. Thanks

It's a shim that spaces the flywheel the correct distance from the hub, for starter engagement. Yes, put it in there. Can't say about the bearing collar...
