It will be some time before the finished product sees the light of day, but here's my current progress. I've managed to open the doors and rear lid. No idea what the door hinges on the real car look like, so I can't continue yet.

You guys can help too.... just let me know if you find any photos with closeups of the door hinges. I've never been able to find them, the closest was the photo of the rear baggage compartment lid from hiro.

I think they just open horizontally, do you need an actual photo of the inside of the door hinge?? Try Supercars.net, I don't know if it is there or not but they usually have alot of info on supercars (obviously). Or http://www.sounddomain.com try the members pages and try Jaguar XJ220, if someone on there actually owns one you could ask them for that pic or they might already have it.

You didn't open the front hood? This should help. (hint hint hint) :)

Another great reference you should have:

tony's race car walkarounds (http://www.evil-photographer.com/cars/)
Click Jaguar on the left; then XJ220 on the right.

Thanks hiro, you're always a lifesaver. So how's the progress on your XJ220C?

I seem to remember that someone from this forum built the same exact kit. They did a very good job on it.

I remember who built the kit, it was Veyron. If you wan't to see it, search xj220 and click to the second page, the thread name is called " Yikes! A big cat is loose on AF! "

Current progress... did more work on the door hinges. The rear deck lid needs more changes.. there's a gap between the louvres and the baggage compartment.

Great looking project! I want to do another one using the Tamiya kit, not to this level of detail, but I want to put a V12 in it from the XJR-9LM Tamiya kit. The original concept had a V12, Jag presold the car that way, then decided to put in the turbo V6. When the customers found out many of them cancelled their orders.:)

I'll be opening the bonnet too, but operations like these tend to make the body awfully weak. The front window pillars have already snapped.

I'd love to make some decals for something like this:
