I was searching through these threads but had no luck, I have a 96 4X4 blazer and i would like to put on a posi rear end. I was wondering are there any rear ends off of other cars that is compatible with the blazer? I don't want to have to fabricate anything, its not worth it to me, but if there is any bolt ons from other cars that you all know about that would be great.

Start calling bone yards, the replacement rear axle must have the same gear ratio that you have now... if you want the 4X4 to work. The bone yard can tell you what years will fit.

The rear axle on a S10 4x4 is slightly narrower than the front, 1-2 inches I think. If I was looking for a replacement, I would measure the front and try to find an axle that matches the width of it.
