View Full Version : Suzuki RGB500 Wil Hartog Suzuki RGB500 Wil Hartog denman2 12-08-2007, 07:00 AM The basics are Tamiya's team gallina RGB with studio27 PE. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/rgb500.jpg The decals are from ragged edge ( thanks Rod for the information ). http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/wilhartogdecals.jpg The first problem was the front wheel. The kit has a five spoke wheel and the original has a three spoke wheel, luckely i had a spare from the Akai yamaha. A nice starting pic of the original bike. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/hartogstart.jpg Other problems that have to been solved are the decals are from a imola 200 race and i want to build a normal GP bike, what means i have to paint the numbershields yellow and ad a number 8 decal. I started with the rearbrakedisk, which is mostly PE. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050003.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050007.jpg After the rearbrakedisk is started the first front disk, which is also mostly PE. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050001.jpg http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050005.jpg on the engine is only the clutch PE. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050002.jpg To get the bike time correct to the original the rearbrake mastercilinder had to be re placed from inside the frame to the rear of the frame. http://i70.photobucket.com/albums/i99/denman_2006/motoren/wil%20hartog%20RGB/PC050004.jpg I have to build this bike in a very good shape because a collegue of me Knows Wil Hartog ( who does race some times on his '79 bike in demoruns ) in person and i want to give him some pics when its finished. cinqster 12-11-2007, 08:14 AM Wow, that's a name from the past - I used to watch Wil Hartog race at Brands Hatch when I was a kid! Looking forward to seeing more of the build:popcorn: Related Links Participate in thousands of discussions at AutomotiveForums.com! Registration is absolutely free. |
