GTI 1.8T-Looking to chip it?

i'm new at this vw family and modifying.
could you guys help
How much would i gave with a chip? (hp)(torque)
i was looking at this on chip on apr.com any ideas?
i need input i want more power without killing my engine life.
as other mods i can do?
i want to stay away from making it loud (i.e eXhaust).
is there an bigger exhaust out there that is just as silent or no much louder. ???

There's a bunch of chips out there depending on how far you want to go. If you're gonna do a chip + exhaust only go with apr, they make a stealth 2.5" for mkiv's and give you their stage 2 software for free when you buy their exhaust so you won't throw any cels.

If you're gonna go Big Turbo down the road you may want to get software like giac that will support those files.

APR stage one will give you 215 at the crank and 247lb ft, another 8 or 10% when you go stage 2.
