Lock change to Corolla 96smarty_80 11-29-2007, 10:02 AM Hi, I own a 1996 Corolla. I lost one of keys recently and it looks like someone tried to open the door. Now I need to replace my locks. My car now has only manual locks. Can anyone tell me whom I should contact for changing my manual locks to a power lock. Or I would atleast want to put a keyless entry to it with an alarm. Kindly help. badbrakes 12-10-2007, 09:57 AM I would first start with the dealership. I would think that based on your VIN, they could cut a new key for you. If you're concerned with someone having a copy of your old key, I would ask the dealership on whether your locks can be 'reprogrammed' - as opposed to replacing the whole thing. In terms of installing power locks, I suppose it could be done but you'll need to get the 'actuators' and hardware for inside the doors. Typically this would only be available from dealership as I suspect not available in after market. -- all of this may add to significant costs. vBulletin®, Copyright ©2009, Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd.
