How's this setup?SilverY2KCivic 12-05-2002, 03:10 AM For my '00 Civic DX, I was thinking of going with the GReddy D16 turbo kit, and mating it to the A'PEXi GT intercooler. Anything else I might need to go along with this setup? I'm not going FI to street race with either, I don't drag, I auto-x with my car, I just want to add some kick to it thew best bang for buck way, since going internals would cost more than turbo to get half the power gains. drift 12-05-2002, 05:23 AM why not get the full apexi turbo system? SilverY2KCivic 12-05-2002, 03:25 PM Originally posted by drift why not get the full apexi turbo system? That was a consideration, but that system is if I remember right, about $1000 more than the GReddy. :( It does have a better turbo than GReddy, but I'd prefer to not wait extra time to save the additional $1000, and I could be wrong, but do they even make a system for SOHC non-VTEC motors, D16 specifically. drift 12-06-2002, 02:34 AM Originally posted by SilverY2KCivic but do they even make a system for SOHC non-VTEC motors, D16 specifically. yes. SilverY2KCivic 12-06-2002, 03:50 AM Hmm, but still it's the price of it that sways me away... :bloated: I'll have to price it out where I got my A'pexi exhaust from and my Teins from and see if they have a good deal on it. Skill wise, how hard or easy is a turbo kit to install? I'd like to do it myself if I can to save on labor charges. drift 12-06-2002, 03:55 AM same as bolting on a header, changing a radiator, installing an intake... but all at the same time. the only difficulty will be modifying the downpipe if it doesnt fit perfectly, and you'll need to find someone who can TIG weld the oil return flange onto your oilpan. dirk-diggler 02-01-2003, 02:37 PM Waaaay wrong setup dude, if you're gonna auto cross, that's just wrong. The straights on the auto cross tracks are so short, your turbo is gonna be spooling up when you get to the braking zone. Find ways to get torque to the motor instead like exhaust, intake, camshaft, timing, fuel pressure regulater! sparq 02-03-2003, 06:42 AM Turbo for auto cross?
