Hi guys,

As promised earlier on (I got my friends digicam on loan last weekend :D) I'm posting some models that I build a couple of years ago, before I knew about this mad, cool, nice place. This time I show you a project thqt I did some 6 or 7 years ago.

It's Tamiya's Porsche 959 in a 'Cutaway' version, like they sometimes do when new cars are getting launched at big car shows. Also the same sort of cutaway was done once in a Tamiya magazine and I "stole" the idea of building the same.

The actual cutting away was a bit tricky but turned out ok. The seats were covered with some very thin real leather. The rest is 'out of the box'. I hope you enjoy the pics.

Incredible work! :) I have a pic somewhere at home of Tamiya's 959 cutaway in a brochure that came with my 180SX kit. If I get a chance I'll scan for comparison! :D

Great job again!

Awesome dude... The 959 is one of my all time favourite cars. :) It's also the first Tamiya car kit I built more than 10 years ago. Unfortunately I mucked it up real bad.

Holy crap, i think I'll get another 959 and an F40. :D

I think this would be a cool cut-away project.

:D

I bet Tamiya's going to release a clearview version anyway, with all the hidden details they've put into it.

That's the Enzo right? Naa, actually I'm thinking of doing the Tamiya Merc S600 as a cutaway. Will have to modify engine bay, trunk etc. but the more I'm thinking about it the more I'm getting into it.
