2003 honda pilot-trouble with ignition switch

I have a 2003 Honda Pilot with 72,000 miles on it.
When I put my key in the ignition switch, sometimes it will work, other times, I have pull the key out, turn it over, try it again, pull the key out, try again. It usually works on the 3-4th try. I have had my ignition key "Re-keyed" once at a Honda Dealership...seemed to work OK for a few months. The honda dealer now wants to replace the ignition switch ($725) plus labor and then have the doors rekeyed at $50 apiece ($250)
I find it hard to believe that the ignition switch would go bad at 72,00 miles.
Anybody else had this problem...or heard of someone else?
Thanks....
