84 ram custom 100 (in-line 6) no power

here the thing i got this and had to put a starter on it put gas in it and it started. the thing is it has no power it seems like its missing out,i put new plugs and it got a little better, but now it eat gas like crazy,could it be in the distibuter cap please respond.

If the truck has been sitting for a while you might want to consider doing a good tune-up. Plugs, wires, cap, button, fuel filter. May want to take a fuel sample to be sure the fuel does not have water, rust, dirt or any other kind f debris.
