I have the factory nav unit on my 2007 Avalanche LTZ and it seems to have very old information. Tries to take me on streets that aren't there, or it cannot find streets that have been there for 30 years! (CA)

How about yours, does it work well?

I dont know about what kind of system is on your Avalance, but I do know that my dad has a Corvette and his GPS was doing the same things. Turns out there was something that he didnt configure correctly during the inital setup. I would try going back and doing all that again and making sure that it is set for your region. Believe it or not that can make a big difference, and make sure you have the right configuration CD.

Thanks, I am pretty sure that it is setup correctly because it works for most of the addresses, but I will check it out.

Well, assuming that it is set correctly you might want to see if the maker of your GPS has an updated disc that the dealership (assuming you bought this from one) might not have yet. But it may turn out that you just have to wait for them to update their maps.

I actually did that already. Got the latest disk from the dealer, but it didn't help.

I actually use a portable Garmin now instead of the factory unit.

The factory unit cost way more but the Garmin is far more reliable!

Haha, thats what happens at my house. Dad's 'vette GPS will go AWOL, and my Garmin just keeps on working like a charm. Gotta love Garmin!

Exactly! And I have tried other portable gps's and the garmin is clearly the best.

I don't really know the answer, but surely there is a setting where you can choose to have the videos play without the nav interfering. You may have to contact your dealer.
