My 1992 Taurus Idling ProblemsKidRock9999 11-12-2007, 09:33 AM My Car idles like its going 55mph, when it idles up high, it will not go back down and causes the car to jerk into drive and reverse, i need to know 2 things, Is it the Throttle Position Sensor and where is it located? Can i change the myself? I'd suggest you test it for linearity prior to just replacing it. You should also check for vacuum leaks, verify the Idle Air Control is doing it's job, and that there isn't a build up of carbon on the throttle plate preventing it from closing completely. -Rod UsedtobeSmart 11-17-2007, 03:42 PM is that a "vulcan" engine?
